Tribute to Max Collie
This
page is dedicated to the memory of the late Max Collie a
hypnotic pioneer.

Ask anyone to name a famous hypnotist and
ten times out of ten the answer will be the legendary Max
Collie or in more recent times the famous TV Celebrity Max
Kaan.
Max Collie
Max Collie emigrated to South Africa from
Scotland in the late 1940's, he came from a town called
Aberdeen (today famous for its North Sea oil)
Max Collie quickly established himself as
a bona fide genuine hypnotist capable of entertaining the
masses and did so in a no nonsense style.
Max Collie became interested in hypnosis after
watching a local hypnotist in Scotland perform.
Among
many of Max Collie's hypnotic attributes were a powerful
voice, massive stage presence, a flawless technique and
a natural comedy sense with spot on timing.
Max Collie was also an accomplished hypnotherapist
and helped tens of thousands of people overcome various
ailments and complaints.

There is clearly no doubt Max Collie loved
and cherished hypnosis, he vigourously defended the good
name of stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy, Max Collie believed
in hypnosis with all his heart and promoted it at every
opportunity.
Max collie regularly held hypnotic forums
and invited the various other stage hypnotists to attend,
among the many discussions were territory, appearences,
material etc.
Max Collie was forever changing the content
of his show, no two shows were ever the same.

Max Kaan holds several modern day records
and firsts in South Africa.
Max Kaan was the first ever hypnotist to have
his own commissioned SABC3 TV series Nowhereland now into
its second series, (a third series coming soon)
Max Kaan was the first ever hypnotist to perform
to a capacity audience of over six thousand people at the
Sun City Superbowl.
Max Kaan was the first Hypnotist to appear
on the TV show Comedy Showcase.
